The Policy Group for Florida's Families and Children

The Policy Group for Florida's Families and Children believes that the well-being of children and families is the highest priority in Florida. As an independent, analytical group, we develop and support public policies consistent with this priority and grounded in evidence-based research. We promote efforts that will enable Florida's families and children to have a sense of connectedness to one another, hope and optimism toward the future, and the opportunity and capacity to raise children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn. We promote efforts that ensure adequately trained staff is available to deliver services and supports to families, children and communities, and we promote efforts that build upon and use the strengths, assets and resources that already exist in communities. We believe that an integrated system of services with a prevention focus is the best way to accomplish our vision.

The State of Florida's Child & Child Screening for Developmental, Health and Environmental Information

Recently, Policy Group Fellows have been collaborating to assist the Florida Cabinet for Children and Youth as it implements its strategic plan. As part of recommendations being made to the Cabinet by a larger group, The Policy Group developed two reports.
